Build Your Own Frost, Pest & Sun Shield for Young Trees is a DIY Tree Protector Kit that helps protect small trees, shrubs, or young perennials. It provides core hardware and lets you shop for standard ¾" EMT conduit locally. After choosing your covering, you have a customizable, reusable solution designed for seasonal protection that you assemble yourself.
It is compatible with a 4 ft EMT bender (optional add-on) and with shade cloth, insect netting, or greenhouse film. The kit includes 1 EMT connector, 4 EMT splices, #8 self-tapping screws, 10 Snap Clamps, an optional 4 ft EMT bender, optional protective covering, and Printable PDF Instructions. You’ll buy locally 3 or 4 pieces of 10 ft x ¾ inch EMT pipe (height depends on your setup) and, if needed, four 2 ft pieces of ½ inch rebar for anchoring in hard-packed ground.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
