Cas Guava Tree (Psidium friedrichsthalianum), also known as Costa Rican Guava or Sour Guava Tree, is a small tropical fruit tree native to Central America, particularly Costa Rica. The tree is hardy and drought-tolerant once established, growing up to 10–15 feet tall and often producing fruit heavily, sometimes within 2–3 years of planting. It is valued for its ability to thrive in diverse conditions and for its distinctively aromatic, tangy fruit.
Fruits are small, round, greenish-yellow with white or light yellow flesh and numerous seeds. They have a strong tangy, citrusy flavor and are highly aromatic. Leaves are glossy dark green and aromatic when crushed. The tree is commonly used for beverages such as the Costa Rican Cas fresco, as well as juices, jams, jellies, and sauces; the fruit is rarely eaten fresh due to its sour taste. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
