Carob Tree, also known as St. John’s Bread, is a long-lived evergreen in the Fabaceae family. It is native to the Middle East and is related to Butterfly Pea and Lablab Bean. The tree grows a feathery canopy of deep green, leathery leaves atop a trunk of twisted, reddish-brown bark.
Red, single-sex flower clusters develop in autumn, attracting bees and flies with a musky fragrance. To pollinate, a second tree of the opposite sex is required to produce pods. These pods mature into glossy brown, tough-fibered pods containing seeds that rattle when ripe. The pulp is used culinarily as a chocolate substitute, with a sweet, bean-like flavor similar to cacao minus the migraine-inducing theobromine. It can be eaten fresh or dried into a powder.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
