The Calathea roseopicta 'Dottie' displays dark foliage edged in fuchsia pink and backed by purple undersides, forming an upright clump that thickens annually. Originating from South American rainforests, it belongs to the prayer plant family, folding its leaves upward at dusk and reopening them at dawn. This specimen ships established in either a 4-inch or 6-inch container, available in nursery pots, terra-cotta, black or white eco options, and cow pots.
Development requires bright to medium indirect light to preserve pigmentation without direct sun damage. Keep soil evenly moist using a perlite and coco coir blend, watering only when the surface dries. Maintain 65–85°F temperatures and 50–70% relative humidity to stop brown leaf edges. Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
