The Reineke (also known as Merida) Black Sapote is a rare tropical fruit tree prized by collectors and commonly referred to as the Chocolate Pudding Fruit. Its flesh is thick and custardy with a warm, fruity cacao-like flavor that tastes like chocolate pudding.
Black Sapote belongs to the persimmon family of plants, Evenecae, and is native to the tropical/subtropical regions of Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. The trees grow leafy and dense, producing fruit prolifically in subtropical climates, where they do not need much coddling once established. Harvest the fruit when the outside color changes from bright green to muddy green. It can be eaten raw, cooked into pies and pastries, or blended into a fresh drink. We simply love to eat it fresh with a spoon!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
