Lula Avocado Tree is a vigorous, late-season variety beloved by Florida growers for its rich flavor, cold tolerance, and reliable fruit production. It bears medium-to-large, pear-shaped fruit with glossy green skin, a small seed, and creamy, high-oil flesh ideal for guacamole, slicing, and spreading.
It is remarkably cold-hardy, tolerating temperatures into the mid-20s °F, a key reason it suits Zone 9+ growers. Originating in South Florida, Lula delivers buttery, nutty fruit with high oil content and a late-season harvest that extends the Florida avocado season. The tree grows vigorously and yields well once established; small seeds and thick flesh reduce waste. Growing tips: plant in full sun and well-drained soil, avoid soggy sites (raise beds if needed), water deeply while establishing, prune for height and airflow, and fertilize with a balanced mix during the season. Lula is a Type A flower, but yields improve with a nearby Type B pollinator. Our mature grafted trees in 3 gallon pots begin fruiting within 1 year.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
