Annona squamosa, known as the sugar apple or sweetsop, is a small deciduous or semi-evergreen tree in the custard apple family (Annonaceae). Native to tropical Americas, it is widely cultivated for its sweet, creamy fruit. The tree typically reaches 6 to 20 feet, with a low spreading crown and open branching.
Leaves are oblong, 2 to 6 inches long, glossy pale green and alternately arranged. Flowers are small, fragrant, yellow-green and hermaphroditic, functioning first as female and then as male to help reduce self-pollination. Fruits are round to conical, 2.5 to 4 inches in diameter, with a thick knobby skin and a custard-like pulp that is white to light yellow with dark seeds. The tree prefers tropical climates, full sun, and well-drained soil; drought-tolerant but fruiting improves with regular watering and frost sensitivity limits cultivation to zones 10-11. Regular pruning helps maintain shape; pests include scale insects, mealybugs, and fungal infections.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
