L'ortie est une plante très répandue, que l'on trouve en Amérique du Nord, en Europe, en Afrique du Nord et dans certaines régions d'Asie.
Malgré leur piquant, une fois cuites, les feuilles perdent leur piquant et sont plus riches en fer que les épinards !
Un excellent ajout à votre cuisine, parfait pour les salades ou comme substitut aux épinards.
Les graines étant petites, elles sont mélangées à du sable de jardin pour faciliter le semis. Un traitement au froid avant la germination est recommandé.
Taux de germination élevé, avec des pousses attendues dans les 10 à 14 jours.
Préparez-vous à récolter vos orties entre 80 et 90 jours après le semis, en cueillant les 10 à 12 cm supérieurs de la plante pour une saveur et une valeur nutritive optimales.
N'oubliez pas : portez toujours des gants lorsque vous manipulez cette plante pour éviter sa piqûre !
