Le Figuier des rochers (Ficus petiolaris), également appelé Figuier à pétiole ou Figuier des rochers mexicain, est une belle espèce de figuier résistante, originaire des forêts tropicales sèches du Mexique et de la Basse-Californie. Il doit son nom à sa remarquable capacité à pousser sur les flancs et les falaises rocheuses, s'accrochant souvent à la pierre nue avec des racines exposées spectaculaires et une forme naturelle rappelant un bonsaï.
Ce figuier est apprécié pour son apparence à couper le souffle : de grandes feuilles en forme de cœur avec des nervures rosées, un feuillage étalé et une base épaissie ressemblant à un caudex qui se forme avec le temps, en faisant une pièce maîtresse dans n'importe quel paysage ou pot. L'arbre est très adaptable et résistant à la sécheresse, prospérant dans des conditions arides ou subtropicales avec un sol bien drainé et beaucoup de soleil.
Le Figuier des rochers produit de petites figues comestibles qui sont appréciées par les oiseaux et la faune, et peuvent être consommées fraîches ou utilisées dans des conserves. C'est un excellent choix pour l'aménagement paysager économe en eau (xéropaysagisme), les amateurs de bonsaïs, ou toute personne cherchant à cultiver un arbre fruitier unique avec une forme sculpturale et une valeur pour l'écosystème local.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
