Avec ses fruits collants, sucrés, de couleur orange-coucher de soleil et son attrayante écorce gris foncé qui vieillit en gros blocs ressemblant à des damiers, le plaqueminier indigène de Floride est un spécimen magnifique à l'esthétique toujours changeante. En été, les feuilles vert foncé portent d'énormes canopées, atteignant parfois 24 mètres de hauteur, qui s'étendent en une ombre parfaite.
À l'automne, les feuilles se transforment en nuances de bordeaux profond et d'orange brûlé avant d'être emportées par le vent et d'exposer leurs fruits mûrissants. Le plaqueminier indigène de Floride arbore un magnifique feuillage qui peut être séché et transformé en une tisane riche en vitamine C, juste à temps pour la saison froide ! Attendez que le fruit spectaculaire ramollisse sur l'arbre pour le manger, ou utilisez les fruits immatures pour les faire bouillir et en faire une teinture noire riche en tanins. Les graines peuvent être séchées et utilisées comme substitut du café, tant que les tanins ne dérangent pas votre ventre. Il y a tellement d'utilisations créatives pour cet arbre ! Ces délicieux kakis arborent une couleur orange-citrouille tant sur leur peau que sur leur chair. Une fois mûrs, les kakis indigènes de Floride possèdent des couches de saveurs, rappelant la poire, les dattes et la cassonade avec des nuances de cannelle. Leur texture varie de croquante et succulente lorsqu'ils sont jeunes, à une texture tendre et gélatineuse à mesure qu'ils mûrissent. Les fruits sont prêts à être récoltés lorsque leur peau est d'un orange foncé.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
