Cet arbre fruitier tropical, originaire de l’Ancien Monde, possède une aire de répartition naturelle incertaine (on suppose qu’il provient de Malaisie). Toutefois, sa présence reconnue comme arbre fruitier naturalisé dans les régions tropicales d’Amérique du Sud témoigne de sa robustesse. Le pommier de Malaisie peut atteindre 18 mètres de hauteur à l’état sauvage, mais reste bas et dense en culture. Pour une croissance optimale, il a besoin de conditions chaudes et humides.
Le pommier malais est un ajout fascinant à toute collection d'arbres tropicaux, ses jeunes pousses arborant une teinte rouge vin. Sa floraison semble se faire discrète, les fleurs, dissimulées par le feuillage, restant invisibles jusqu'à ce qu'elles touchent le sol. Les fruits de ce pommier sont appréciés dans les régions où il est naturalisé. Ils mûrissent 60 jours après la floraison et, pour une dégustation optimale, il est conseillé de les cueillir à la main. Bien que certains trouvent son goût assez fade, sa peau cireuse et rosée et sa chair blanche et croquante en font une gourmandise irrésistible.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again. Hoghly recommend this shop.
