La plante « Larmes de Job » est une graminée tropicale originaire d'Asie du Sud-Est, qui s'est naturalisée en Amérique du Sud et dans les Caraïbes. Elle appartient à la famille des Poacées (graminées et riz). Ses larges feuilles ornementales poussent dressées et arquées à leurs extrémités. Durant les saisons chaudes, elle produit de longs et magnifiques épis de grains qui se transforment en de superbes chapelets de graines évoquant des perles ou des larmes. Ces grains uniques sont souvent comparés à l'orge par leur taille, leur couleur et leur forme.
Cette plante se ressème spontanément chaque année et est vivace sur la côte est et dans les régions au climat chaud. Son feuillage texturé est excellent, ce qui en fait une plante de haie idéale. Elle se cultive aussi très bien en pot, atteignant facilement 1,20 à 1,80 m de hauteur. Il est préférable de planter les larmes de Job pendant la saison des pluies, au printemps (en ce moment même !). Les épis germeront et seront prêts à être récoltés abondamment dès que le temps deviendra plus sec.
Les larmes de Job ont plusieurs usages alimentaires, principalement comme graine. En Asie, elles servent couramment à la fabrication d'alcool de grain, souvent sucré et aromatisé aux épices. On peut également préparer une boisson lactée semblable à l'horchata à partir de ces grains. Sur le plan médicinal, le son est reconnu pour ses propriétés anticancéreuses. Les grains, de forme arrondie, sont naturellement percés d'un trou qui facilite leur enfilage. Résistants à l'humidité et durables, ils sont souvent utilisés pour la confection de colliers et de chapelets, en raison de la symbolique de leur forme de larme.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
