Le jamun, également appelé prunier de Java, jambul, prunier noir ou jambolan, est un grand arbre à feuilles persistantes de la famille des Myrtacées, originaire d'Inde et naturalisé en Asie du Sud-Est et dans les régions tropicales du monde entier. Il est couramment cultivé comme arbre d'ornement pour son ombrage et pour ses fruits comestibles, d'un violet foncé.
Le jamunier atteint une hauteur de 25 à 30 mètres et, à maturité, arbore une magnifique cime étalée. Au printemps, ses branches se parent de fleurs parfumées, de couleur crème, qui se transforment en fruits verts de la taille d'une prune, devenant pourpre foncé à maturité. Mûrs, ces fruits sont sucrés et acidulés et se dégustent frais en salade ou en smoothie, ou encore transformés en vin, vinaigre, sauces, confitures, gelées ou sorbets. Les fruits du jamun sont très nutritifs et constituent une excellente source d'antioxydants, de composés phytochimiques et de vitamine C. En médecine ayurvédique, ils sont utilisés pour prévenir le diabète, soulager les troubles digestifs et purifier le sang. Culturellement, ils sont considérés comme un « fruit des dieux » et sont mentionnés dans les textes sacrés hindous.
Le jamun prospère dans les régions tropicales, mais sa résistance au froid en fait un excellent arbre fruitier pour la culture en extérieur sous les climats subtropicaux. Il se développe de préférence dans un sol humide et bien drainé, en plein soleil, et est rustique dans les zones USDA 9 à 11.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
