L'oseille sanguine, ou patience à nervures rouges, est une plante vivace comestible cultivée pour son feuillage coloré et ses salades savoureuses. Originaire d'Europe, d'Asie du Sud-Ouest et d'Afrique du Nord, elle s'est naturalisée dans certaines régions des États-Unis et du Canada.
Les feuilles vertes lancéolées forment une rosette de 45 cm de haut et de large, ornée d'un réseau de nervures d'un rouge pourpre éclatant. L'oseille sanguine est ainsi une plante remarquable pour les bordures, les pots ou les abords d'un bassin. Les jeunes feuilles crues apportent une touche de couleur aux salades et se cuisinent comme des épinards ; elles s'incorporent aussi aux soupes, omelettes et sauces. Leur saveur acidulée et citronnée, relevée par l'acide oxalique, est agréable au goût. Seules les jeunes feuilles sont comestibles, les plus âgées étant coriaces et amères. L'oseille sanguine possède des propriétés antiseptiques et astringentes et est riche en vitamines A et C.
De la fin du printemps au début de l'été, des épis floraux de 60 à 90 cm de haut se développent à partir de la rosette feuillue, portant de petites fleurs étoilées de couleur cuivrée. Ces épis sont généralement supprimés afin de favoriser une croissance plus dense de la rosette et d'empêcher la plante de se ressemer spontanément, car elle a tendance à devenir envahissante.
La patience sanguine (Pulse sanguinolente) prospère en plein soleil, mais tolère une ombre partielle dans un sol riche, humide, bien drainé et organique. Elle se plaît en bordure d'étang et peut également être cultivée au jardin, à condition que le sol soit maintenu constamment humide et bien drainé. La patience sanguine est une plante vivace dans sa zone de rusticité (4 à 8), mais peut aussi être cultivée comme une annuelle.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
