Le Black Bead Tree est un arbuste ou un petit arbre commun, originaire du sud de la Floride, des Keys, d'Amérique centrale et des Caraïbes. Ses fleurs duveteuses, d'un blanc rosé éclatant, s'épanouissent de l'hiver au printemps et se transforment, en été, en gousses vertes spiralées. À maturité, les gousses brunissent et s'ouvrent pour révéler des arilles rouge vif comestibles contenant des graines noires. Il appartient à la famille des Fabacées, les légumineuses.
L'arbre à graines noires atteint une hauteur de 2,5 à 4,5 mètres et possède plusieurs troncs ainsi qu'une cime large et irrégulière. Ses feuilles persistantes et coriaces, ses fleurs colorées et ses fruits en font un arbre d'ornement attrayant, idéal pour créer un écran végétal ou une haie dans un jardin. Il offre également un excellent abri à la faune sauvage. Les abeilles et les papillons indigènes butinent ses fleurs, tandis que les oiseaux se régalent de ses arilles rouges. Les graines noires, une fois séchées, peuvent servir à confectionner des perles pour des colliers, d'où son nom.
Ce petit arbre pousse en plein soleil dans des sols calcaires ou sableux bien drainés. Il est considéré comme une espèce menacée en Floride et rustique dans les zones USDA 9 et plus.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
